The ABB Traction division is a leader in traction technologies, advancing innovation in rail transportation and e-mobility. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and executing medium‑scale projects and ensuring that all related activities are carried out according to ABB’s policies, contractual obligations, quality standards, safety and environmental requirements, financial targets, and project schedule commitments.
The work model for the role is: hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:
Managing several projects related to product implementation and development.
Coordinating project team activities, defining key guidelines, assigning project tasks, motivating the team, and monitoring internal resources needed for on-time project execution.
Creating project business cases.
Acting as the main point of contact for the customer and the escalation point for project issues; building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and communicating effectively with all parties involved.
Managing project schedules, monitoring and controlling project execution status, and reporting progress and its impact on the business.
Seeking optimization opportunities and maintaining a consistent focus on continuous improvement.
Analyzing and sharing lessons learned as well as ensuring formal project acceptance from the customer confirming contractual fulfillment.
Cooperating with other departments to ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulations.
Qualifications for the role
Higher education, preferably in a technical field (Automation and Robotics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related).
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or in a similar role within an international environment.
Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2) and ability to apply them in practice.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence).
Experience in working with customers and internal stakeholders.
Good command of English, enabling effective verbal and written communication.
Skilled at clear communication and relationship-building, with proficiency in negotiation and consensus-building.
Analytical thinking, problem‑solving mindset, and focus on continuous improvement.
