Position: Engineer Manager, Flight Management

Job Duties: 
Develop and validate hardware and software system functional and performance requirements for Touchscreen Control Display Units that interface with Flight Management Computers in Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Support the design of hardware, software, and interface specifications for Control Display Units, Flight Management Computers, and Alternate Navigation (“ALTNAV”). Test and validate requirements to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements for Touchscreen Control Display Units in Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Perform engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. Develop tests to evaluate system functionality and the performance of Touchscreen Control Display Units in Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Monitor Touchscreen Control Display Unit supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software for Touchscreen Control Display Units over the entire product lifecycle post-certification. Research specific technology advances in flight deck interfaces and flight management computers for potential application to company business needs. Lead the certification of Touchscreen Control Display Units by developing and submitting Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (“EASA”) Certification Plans as well as interfacing with aviation regulators.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience. 

Alternatively, the employer will accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Must have 3 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering.

Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

•    Leading teams in a formal or informal leadership role;
•    Systems engineering and integration of complex avionics systems;
•    Leading through influence and partnering with multi-functional engineering and business teams on company projects and initiatives; and
•    Developing, integrating, testing, and certifying Flight Management Systems and Flight Deck Displays.

Telecommuting permitted up to 50%.

Domestic travel required up to 10%.

Pursuant to the Revised Code of Washington to provide the salary range, the offered wage for this role is $158,266 per year.
