Role Overview

Join the Thermo Fisher Scientific team as a Technical Support Specialist II and contribute to delivering outstanding technical support solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with subject-matter experts across multiple functions to resolve complex technical issues, improve processes, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will support scientific innovation by providing professional technical assistance through both remote and on-site support, and you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree with no prior experience required, or a bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience in technical support, field service, or manufacturing within the high-tech industry

  • Preferred field of study: Molecular Biology or a related technical discipline

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across molecular biology applications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage complex technical discussions

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams

  • Experience creating and managing technical documentation and training materials

  • Willingness to travel

  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

  • Experience with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet performance metrics

  • Experience training and mentoring sales teams and other technical staff
