Profile Summary:

The Vice President, AI & Application Security Strategy & Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the development and execution of AI-enabled capabilities across the Information Security organization. This leader will shape how artificial intelligence is leveraged to enhance security, cloud operations, and business resiliency, while ensuring responsible, secure adoption across the enterprise.

This role also serves as the primary liaison between Information Security and business leaders for all business-owned (SaaS) applications, ensuring security standards are upheld, risks are clearly understood, and mitigation strategies are embedded into business processes. 

Profile Description:

  • AI Strategy, Security Innovation & Operational Resiliency Partnership

  • Define and lead the AI strategy for Information Security, aligned with enterprise business and technology priorities

  • Lead the identification and deployment of AI use cases that strengthen threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and operational automation

  • Partner with engineering, architecture, cloud operations, and business resiliency leaders to identify where AI can improve security, continuity, and operational performance

  • Assess emerging AI risks, including model exploitation, data leakage, and adversarial threats, and implement controls to support secure adoption

  • Advance AI-enabled capabilities that strengthen disaster recovery, incident management, service continuity, and resilience-by-design practices

  • Business Application (SaaS) Security Partnership

  • Act as the primary InfoSec liaison for business-owned applications (e.g., Salesforce, Databricks, Genesys, and others)

  • Establish governance models and security standards for SaaS onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management

  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate technical risks into clear, actionable insights

  • Ensure third-party and SaaS risks are proactively identified, assessed, and mitigated

  • Risk Management & Advisory

  • Provide executive-level risk advisory to business and technology leaders on AI, cloud, and SaaS security exposures

  • Lead risk assessments and define mitigation strategies across enterprise platforms

  • Support regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements related to AI, data protection, and cloud security

  • Operating Model & Capability Build

  • Build and scale a high-performing team focused on AI security, cloud security, and resiliency

  • Define operating models, workflows, and governance to integrate AI into security operations

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness of AI-enabled security capabilities

  • Influence enterprise investment decisions related to AI security tooling and platforms

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Partner closely with senior leaders and functional business unit leaders

  • Serve as a trusted advisor translating complex security concepts into business-relevant decisions

  • Drive enterprise awareness and education on AI-related risks and security best practices 

Knowledge & Experience:

Required

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Information Security, with exposure to cloud, AI, and enterprise platforms

  • Proven experience leading security strategy, transformation, or innovation initiatives

  • Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and SaaS risk management

  • Strong understanding of application architecture and operations to ensure security controls are beig met

  • Experience partnering with business leaders to manage risk in decentralized or business-owned technology environments

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence at senior levels

Preferred

  • Experience implementing or leveraging AI/ML within security operations or technology environments

  • Familiarity with AI risk frameworks, model governance, and emerging regulatory expectations

  • Background in financial services or highly regulated industries

  • Knowledge of resiliency frameworks  

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
