Computational Science and Informatics is a fast-paced, highly interdisciplinary, and technical team of people with the adventurous goal of redefining the practice of sequencing by crafting innovative technical solutions using AI technologies to improve the lives of patients. 

In this role you will be responsible for the successful, tactical execution of activities related to our Guinness World Record winning Axelios sequencing products. You will work proactively with Development Leads, Technical Leads, Project Leader and IPMs to identify key needs, translate those needs into software requirements so that our AI team can create sequencing analysis algorithms that will be deployed on the Axelios platform.

Technical Product Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that product development occurs at the intersection of user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility. 

  • Translate product strategy into detailed scientific & technical requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering and data science teams.

  • Author user stories, acceptance criteria, product, and software requirements documentation, ensuring that story content and prioritization is aligned to larger strategic goals

  • Prioritize functional and non-functional requirements coming from competing stakeholders, including commercial and research based on technical complexity, customer impact, and business goals.

  • Negotiate scope in a given release, and keep stakeholders aligned on that scope to unblock dependencies between the device and the broader solution

  • Be the high-availability resource for answering questions posed by engineers, data scientists, and designers about stories in the backlog on a day-to-day basis. 

  • Support the User acceptance testing activities by interacting with stakeholder/s. Update the business owners regarding features being incorporated in each Release.

  • Define the software product definition and roadmap for on-device genomic analysis in collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders in order to maintain a coordinated view of the planned and ongoing product features..

  • Bridge between development, commercial, Solutions and program teams.

  • Participates in bug and defect triage within development and contributes to product risk assessment.

  • Own the mQMS documentation deliverables including product requirements document, software requirements document, traceability between these level of requirements, and requirements management report.

  • Participate in daily standups, sprint & PI planning, and technical design discussions to keep development on track.

Who you are

Senior Technical Product Manager

  • You hold a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Biomedical engineering, Computational biology or equivalent and have a minimum of 5 years experience in Technical Product Management in the health care service industry OR analogous experience managing requirements of computer vision systems based on AI/ML. 

  • You have a proven track record with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework. 

  • You demonstrate Product Management skills - handling priorities, quality, conflict, risk, etc.

Principal Technical Product Manager

  • You hold a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Biomedical engineering, Computational biology or equivalent and have a minimum of 8 years experience in Technical Product Management in the health care service industry OR analogous experience managing requirements of computer vision systems based on AI/ML. 

  • You have a proven track record with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework. 

  • You demonstrate Product Management skills - handling priorities, quality, conflict, risk, etc.

Preferred 

  • You have an advanced degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Sciences, Data Science, Biology, Chemistry or equivalent. 

  • You demonstrate proven understanding of the sequencing space and the associated technologies. 

  • You have experience in regulated industries, specifically Medical Devices/Digital Health/Lifesciences. 

  • You demonstrate an understanding of Health Canada and FDA regulations and guidelines.

  • Occasional travel may be required in the amount of 10-20% for conferences and client visits 

Relocation benefits are not available for this position

The expected salary range for the Senior Technical Product Manager position based on the primary location of Santa Clara or Pleasanton is $127,100 - 236,100 Annual.  The expected salary range for the Principal Technical Product Manager position based on the primary location of Santa Clara or Pleasanton is $172,400 - 320,200 Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance, as well as participation in a long-term incentive program.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
