Job Description:

The opportunity
We are looking for a Strategic Account Manager to manage and grow one of our most important relationships with a major German network operator.

In this role, you will act as the key interface between Hitachi and the client, ensuring our solutions align with their strategic objectives while driving sustainable growth.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive account strategy to ensure long-term growth and customer satisfaction

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities tailored to the client’s needs and challenges

  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Coordinate internal teams (sales, technical, product development) to deliver customized solutions

  • Provide regular reporting on account status, strategy, pipeline development, and revenue forecasts

  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to optimize Hitachi’s positioning

  • Represent Hitachi at industry events and conferences


Your background

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, or a comparable qualification

  • 8–10 years of experience in strategic account management or business development within the energy sector

  • Strong regional expertise and deep understanding of the challenges, regulations, and technologies relevant to major network operators in the region

  • Demonstrated success in cultivating senior-level relationships and managing complex accounts

  • Proven ability to identify and close new business opportunities

  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

  • Proficiency in Dutch/Flemish, and/or French is a plus

  • Willingness to travel within Germany and internationally

  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and translate them into actionable business opportunities

  • Analytical thinking combined with strategic vision
