Wentworth Health Partners Cardiology offers expert care in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease to enhance your overall health. We are a full-service practice offering a full range of cardiology services including general and interventional cardiology, heart failure interventional procedures, electrophysiology, device implants, anticoagulation management and more.

We are seeking a part-time (20-hour) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiology team. This role will primarily support hospital-based stress testing and PET/CT imaging, with cross-training to provide as-needed coverage in the outpatient Cardiology clinic. Testing supervision is conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The selected candidate will work three full days per week on site at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.


 

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The NP/PA is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Master's Degree Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies required

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] or PA License required

Experience
2 years of licensed nurse practitioner or physician assistant experience required
