This role is centered on maintaining and optimizing the Building Automation System (BAS) through daily oversight, installation, and troubleshooting. Key tasks involve working with network components, collaborating with server manufacturers like JCI, and collaborating closely with contractors for system upgrades.

The Building Automation Systems Technician is responsible for installing, updating, repairing, and maintaining our building automation system. In this role, you will also support our building technicians with the day-to-day operations of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems, as needed. The ability to tackle moderately sophisticated problems, communicate with others, work independently, and focus on safety are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Communicates project status to key stakeholders and works closely with the technical team on controls and fire alarm projects, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure alignment and effective resolution        

  • Troubleshoots and repairs the building’s fire systems, supports budgeting for BAS and Fire Alarm projects, and assist TWC facilities nationwide by providing controls monitoring, troubleshooting, and system recommendations

  • Operates, maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other related equipment to ensure its safe and efficient operation

  • Assists maintenance technicians in responding to tenant requests in a courteous and efficient manner, and promptly reports any unresolved issues to the Leads or Supervisors

  • Supports the upkeep of facility logs, records, and drawings                          

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma/GED and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in installation, repair and/or maintenance

  • Preferred: Business Automation System (BAS) experience ideally within Johnson Controls Metasys automation systems and Notifier fire systems

  • Preferred: Vocational/Technical/Business School Degree and/or Certification(s) in Building Automation Controls

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrates outstanding organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

  • Proficiency in the installation, repair, maintenance, commissioning and programming of digital HVAC controls with a strong emphasis on Johnson Controls Metasys automation system                      

  • Must be able to work independently

  • This role includes work performed within a facility regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Accordingly, successful completion of a background investigation conducted through the FDIC is required as a condition for obtaining an additional access badge. Additional screening measures may also apply

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts, and holiday as required

  • Must be willing to work flexible and rotating shifts
