Key responsibilities and authority

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Business Intelligence (BI) Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our BI tools and systems, providing support to users, and contributing to the improvement of our BI processes. You will work closely with other BI and IT staff, and business partners to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance our BI environment.
Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of BI tools and platforms.
Provide technical support and guidance to BI users, resolving any issues related to data quality, system access, and report generation.
Collaborate with BI analysts and IT team members to implement enhancements and new features in the BI system.
Develop and maintain documentation for BI system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
Conduct regular system audits to identify and address potential issues proactively.
Assist in the integration of BI tools with other enterprise systems and databases.
Train users on the effective use of BI tools and promote best practices within the organization.
Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in BI technologies to recommend improvements to existing systems.
Key requirements
Proven experience as a BI Support Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of BI tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QlikView).
Solid experience with SQL and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Familiarity with data warehouse design and ETL processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education/ Qualifications
Identify the essential qualifications, education, and certifications necessary for success in the role.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Proficiency in SQL and understanding of relational databases.
Familiarity with business intelligence platforms and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
Knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modelling concepts.
