Proteins are the molecular machines of life, used for many therapeutic, diagnostic, chemical, agricultural and food applications. Designing and optimizing proteins takes a lot of expert knowledge and manual effort, through the use of custom computational and biological tools.
Machine learning is revolutionising this space, by enabling high-fidelity protein models. At Cradle, we offer a software platform for AI-guided discovery and optimization of proteins, so that biologists can design proteins faster and at scale. We are already used by clients across pharma, biotech, agritech, foodtech, and academia.
We're an experienced team of over 40 people. We've built many successful products before and have enough funding for multiple years of runway. We are distributed across two main locations, Zurich and Amsterdam, and are focused on building the best possible team culture.
We offer our employees a very competitive salary, a generous equity stake in the company and a wide range of benefits and career progression opportunities.
As a Bioinformatician - Protein Science in Customer Success, you will work closely with Cradle’s customers - biotech and pharmaceutical companies, to onboard them onto Cradle’s platform and to help them translate their experimental workflows and data into Machine Learning-ready datasets. You’ll collaborate with Cradle’s engineering team to help clarify any questions on the customer’s datasets, and advise customers on any findings and improvement suggestions for their data setups so as to maximize their success with using Cradle technology. Additionally, you’ll collaborate across Cradle teams, including engineering, product and sales, to ensure a smooth customer experience and inform product development based on customer feedback.
Partner with customers to translate their experimental data into Machine Learning-ready structured datasets, including building integrations and file connectors
Provide insights and recommendations on data management & integration
Produce analytics and visualizations of customer data as needed
Build and maintain strong relationships with Cradle’s users, monitor their satisfaction
Capture customer feedback and work with product teams at Cradle to address customer needs
MSc/PhD in bioinformatics, computational structural biology, or similar
Experience with bio-informatics for protein engineering
Proficiency in Python and relevant data science libraries (pandas, scikit, scipy, matplotlib, etc.). Familiarity with SQL
Experience with data types & assays in therapeutics, in particular antibody & peptide development across hit-identification, hit-to-lead and lead optimization (both large libraries from e.g. FACS or mRNA display, and from microtiter plates)
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, actionable insights
A customer-first, proactive mindset
Experience with workflow systems & LIMS systems: experience writing integrations with LIMS systems (e.g. Benchling, Dotmatics), as well as bio-informatics workflow tools (e.g. Nextflow)
Experience in protein and DNA analytical tools, including NGS data analysis, and libraries such as Biopython, Blast/mmseqs, Mafft, etc.
Experience with protein engineering and machine learning, in biotech or pharma industries
Experience in relationship management and/or sales in biotech or software industry
