Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Human Resources Professional or Senior with in-depth knowledge and experience in employee and leadership development to join our Talent Acquisition and Development team. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

What does this role do?

As a Human Resources Professional, you will support the design, implementation, and facilitation of training and development programs under limited supervision.

As a Senior Human Resources Professional, you will design, implement, facilitate, and evolve programs necessary to create a pipeline of leadership talent across Idaho Power. This role will ensure we are developing the business-focused skills and capabilities of our leaders and employees to support the growth and continuous improvement of the company.

The selected candidate will:

  • Develop and manage policies, programs, and/or processes in training and development with a strong emphasis on leadership development
  • Partner and consult with HR colleagues and business leaders across the enterprise to identify and anticipate learning needs of front-line, middle, and senior-level leaders
  • Develop measures, benchmarks, and/or scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of leadership development efforts and apply these measures to drive progress in talent management and retention
  • Lead efforts to design and deliver enterprise-wide projects, organizational assessments, and training at all levels of leadership
  • Provide consulting services to enterprise-wide projects (such as developing and delivering employee engagement surveys and supporting succession/workforce planning) and work with senior managers and officers to identify and solve performance improvement opportunities
  • Develop a solid understanding of the company and industry initiatives

  • Working with technical systems (Workday and/or other HRIS/Learning Management Systems, etc.)

Ability to:

  • Consistently use independent discretion, sound judgment, and initiative
  • Demonstrate follow-through on customer inquiries regarding HR programs, policies, and processes
  • Recognize complex matters that require additional guidance and escalate as necessary
  • Influence employees and leaders
  • Work successfully in a team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities both on a team (as a member and/or leader) and independently, and deliver results


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

HR Professional:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree or related certifications

Experience:

  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in HR or a related field, such as legal, compliance, training, etc.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Senior HR Professional:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
    • Advanced degree or related certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, Leadership, Business)

Experience:

  • 5 years of professional (exempt)/advanced HR experience and/or Organizational Development/Training
  • Experience in adult education and instructional design, including delivery for multiple modalities (classroom, self-paced, virtual instructor-led, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Coaching experience at the senior manager level or higher
  • At least 6 months experience leading a team of direct reports

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working near other people.
