About Department
The department of Clinical Haematology provides comprehensive services to in-patients, day patients, outpatients, and outreach clinics, through diagnosis and management of a wide range of benign and malignant haematological conditions. The department also has an active clinical trials and research program and is engaged in medical education at all levels. Clinical haematology works in close collaboration with other disciplines including Palliative Care and Psycho-Oncology Units within the hospital where the focus is to manage all patients in a multidisciplinary setting bringing together expertise from a range of disciplines and specialists.
About the Role
The Multiple Myeloma Nurse Coordinator will facilitate evidence based individualized, coordinated care for patients with haematological malignancies across the cancer trajectory.
The Haematology Clinical Nurse Consultant is an expert nurse who has acquired the expert knowledge, complex decision-making skills, and clinical competency for advanced practice to undertake the specialist, clinical management, and coordination of patients with multiple myeloma under the care of the SVHM Haematology team.
The purpose of the role is to provide clinical expertise, consultancy, and education through advanced clinical leadership in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team including nursing teams in the Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU), Ward 6W, GPs and community services.
This role also includes coordination of the Virtual Chemotherapy Day Unit at home service, supporting patients at home being treated with subcutaneous chemotherapy and immunoglobulin.
Classifications for this role will be YY4 ($118,149.20 per annum, pro rata)
