Position Overview 
 
Insulet Corporation, maker of the OmniPod, is the leader in tubeless insulin pump. The Associate Data Scientist role is responsible for supporting research and development of global analytics and data science initiatives, according to Insulet's data analytics strategy. Working with senior analytics technical leaders, you will develop tools and processes to transform data into insights with subject matter experts from cross-functional teams. Using data cleaning best practices, aggregation, and joining large datasets, you will leverage cloud technologies to build analytics reporting for a comprehensive view of product to patient. You will gain detailed knowledge of multiple facets of business operation, and collaborate with other Data Scientists, AI/ML Engineers and Data Engineers in the Analytics COE to support cross-functional efforts spanning R&D, clinical, medical affairs, quality, and global manufacturing among others. Responsibilities 

  • Work cross-functionally to build and communicate key insights, and collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and researchers. 

  • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to gather and interpret requirements. This individual will be adept at working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of business needs and strategic alignment with Insulet's organizational objectives 

  • The ideal candidate will engage with cross-functional teams to develop and streamline data pipelines, ensuring the acquisition and optimal integration of varied data sources.  

  • Effectively communicate analytical findings and strategic implications to a diverse audience, ensuring a clear connection between data results and business goals. 

  • The candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining sophisticated Power BI dashboards that effectively communicate complex data insights 
      

Performs Other Duties As Required. 
 
Education and Experience: 

  • A Bachelor's or master's degree in STEM, or a closely related field is preferred. 

  • 2-4 years of work experience working with data in a fast-paced, data-driven environment is required. 

  • Experience within manufacturing, medical device, and/or healthcare industries is preferred. 

  • Practical experience in developing and deploying interactive dashboards for business intelligence using BI tool (Power BI, Tableu, Spotfire, Qlik or Looker) is required. 

  • Power BI, SQL, Python and Pyspark, are highly desirable. 
     

Skills/Competencies 

  • Goal-driven mentality with a focus on delivering insightful dashboards that inform decision-making. 

  • Proficiency in Power BI and Databricks, including data modeling, report creation, and sharing insights. 

  • Experience with one or more analytic tools, such as Python, R, Matlab, or PySpark. 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and familiarity with one or more relational databases. 

  • Experience working with data from non-relational sources is beneficial. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of understanding of data visualization best practices. 

  • Independent work skills without the need for detailed guidance, paired with a capacity for effective communication with leaders and stakeholders. 

  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and through documentation, the objectives and procedures related to dashboard development and deployment.
