Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Technical Animator (Tools & Pipeline) to join us in the development of a bold new AAA narrative IP. You'll work alongside a highly skilled and passionate team to build tools and pipelines that empower animators to produce groundbreaking visuals and next-gen storytelling.

Our game will run on a proprietary engine currently in active development. You’ll play a key role in shaping how our animation tools interface with this evolving technology - if you're someone who enjoys figuring things out in a moving environment and contributing to the foundation, you’ll feel right at home.

This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise will directly influence the animation workflows and runtime capabilities of a brand-new franchise. 

 

You’ll help us by… 

  • Develop, maintain, and refine animation tools and pipeline across multiple DCC packages (Autodesk Maya, Motion Builder). 

  • Proactively finding innovative solutions for technical challenges 

  • Participating in code reviews and helping drive development of excellent tools for producing next-generation AAA animations and systems. 

  • Collaborating with animation engineers on improving run-time capabilities. 

  • Documenting tools and workflows in a clear, user-friendly way. 

  • Collaborating with different disciplines both inside and outside animation. 

  • Having a clear idea of how our product should function and the ability to share this vision with your peers and other stakeholders.  

  • Mentoring and collaborating with fellow team members.  

You’re awesome because you have… 

  • 8+ years of experience as a Technical Artist or in a similar role focused on DCC tool creation. 

  • Significant experience developing tools and pipelines in Autodesk Maya.

  • Proven track record in a complete production cycle of a commercially released game or similar long-term project experience. 

  • Proficient in UI coding in frameworks like PySide, PyQt, or similar. 

  • Experience working in a multi-platform, multi-project environment. 

  • Understanding of mathematical principles used in 3D animation. 

  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and patterns. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking. 

  • Experience in initiating and developing new concepts to completion. 

  • The ability to collaborate and thrive as part of a creative team. 

 

Bonus points for… 

  • Knowledge of C++ and C# programming. 

  • Experience with advanced Qt (or other UI frameworks) features. 

  • Familiarity with package management and deployment systems like Rez and PyPI. 

  • Proficiency with in-engine animation systems. 

  • Experience with character rigging. 

  • Background in animation for games or VFX. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and to coordinate work with other domains.
