Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management:

    • Monitoring revenue streams and profitability.
    • Preparing and managing budgets.
    • Preparing reports on business activity.
  • Operational Management:
    • Overseeing daily business operations, ensuring smooth and efficient transaction processing.
    • Monitoring transaction flows, settlement processes, and operational KPIs.
    • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Maintaining a thorough understanding of anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), and other regulatory requirements.
    • Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure transaction accuracy.
    • Monitoring and reporting suspicious activities.
  • Business Development:
    • Developing and executing strategies to grow foreign currency banknotes and expand market share.
    • Identifying and onboarding new partners, such as financial institutions and agents.
    • Conducting market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Handling customer inquiries and resolving complaints.
    • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Supervising, training, and motivating staff.
    • Fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Profitability:
    • Maximize profit margins on foreign currencies. (FY2627: NOII RM20mil)
    • Control operational costs.
    • Optimize pricing strategies.
    • Reduce fraud losses.
  • Revenue Growth:
  • Increase the volume of foreign currencies banknotes transactions.
  • Expand the customer base.
  • Develop new products and services.
  • Penetrate new markets, both domestic and international.
  • Market Share Expansion:
    • Increase the company's share of the foreign currencies banknotes market.
    • Gain a competitive advantage over other service providers.
    • Establish strategic partnerships to expand market reach.
  • Cost Efficiency:
    • Streamline foreign currencies conversion processes to reduce operational expenses.
    • Negotiate favorable rates with partner financial institutions.
    • Implement technology solutions to automate processes and reduce manual labor.
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Minimize financial losses due to fraud, errors, and regulatory non-compliance.
    • Ensure strict adherence to AML/KYC regulations to avoid penalties.
    • Implement robust risk management systems.
  • Return on Investment (ROI):
    • Ensure that investments in technology, marketing, and expansion generate a positive ROI.
    • Track and analyze key financial metrics to measure performance.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Ensuring that the business has adequate liquidity to meet all of its financial obligations.
    • Accurate forecasting of cash flows to prevent shortfalls.

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • Ensure high efficiency of all the products by working closely with the team members ((internal and external e.g. various partners and Hubs) in driving the business in accordance to corporate objectives.
  • Work closely with other Retail FX Business Managers to achieve Business Unit’s objectives.

Organizational (organizational responsibilities)

  • Instrumental to drive foreign currencies banknotes financial objectives including key business metrics and P&L of the department.

Education/Qualification

  • Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master degree is an added advantage

Experience

  • Experience in a management or leadership role. 3-5 years is preferred
  • Experience in product management, marketing, project management or operations management.
  • Experience in Foreign Currency or Banknotes business is an added advantage.

  • Effective, empathic, and fair leadership skills
  • Experience recruiting, training, and managing employees
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in the industry
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Foreign Currency or Banknotes software and systems is an added advantage
