The Manager, Commercial Applications, is a strategic leader responsible for steering the development and upkeep of cutting-edge consumer-facing digital solutions. This position involves orchestrating a visionary journey, leading a dynamic team through the strategic planning and execution of digital initiatives that align with the organizational objectives. In addition to fostering innovation, the Manager, Commercial Applications encompasses talent management, leveraging financial acumen, and crafting a roadmap for digital excellence that anticipates future industry trends. The Manager, Commercial Applications is key in shaping Graco's digital narrative and ensuring its continued success in the evolving digital landscape. 

What You Will Do at Graco  

Project Oversight and Management 

  • Oversee the full software development life cycle, from project initiation to delivery and maintenance. 

  • Optimize resource utilization and explore cost-effective solutions. 

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement 

  • Implement and enforce coding standards, code reviews, and testing processes to maintain the quality of our commercial application portfolio. 

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in web and application development. 

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective, efficient and state-of-the-art application systems are in place and maintained. 

  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and scrum master’s to ensure solutions delivered meet the expectations of our business stakeholders. 

  • Collaborate with architects and developers to design scalable, secure, and maintainable web applications. 

Team Leadership and Financial Management  

  • Lead, mentor, manage, and staff a team of web developers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting a culture of excellence.  

  • Drive team performance by setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and facilitating professional growth opportunities.  

  • Establish, manage, and be accountable for the annual budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and alignment with organizational strategic objectives.  

What You Will Bring to Graco  

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 

  • 7+ years of system and application development experience 

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team; 2+ years of team leadership experience preferred.  

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies. 

  • Experience with B2B/B2C, e-commerce and or commercial systems development, such as CRM and web frameworks. 

  • Full-stack development technologies, including React, Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML. 

  • Experience with Cloud Based Development Platforms such as AWS. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
