Senior Engineer

Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior Salesforce Industries (Vlocity) Developer is a senior individual contributor in the Salesforce

team, responsible for building and maintaining high-quality solutions that power the sales process across

the business. Working closely with engineers, business analysts and product partners, this role takes

complex requirements through to robust, well-tested, production-ready solutions on the Salesforce

platform.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Developer owns delivery of features and

enhancements end to end — from scoping and estimation through build, test and deployment — while

championing engineering quality and reducing the cost and complexity of the solutions they create. As a

senior member of the team, they also mentor more junior engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to

the continuous improvement of the team's practices and the reliability of the Salesforce environment.

What you’ll do

Solution Delivery & Quality

  • Delivers technology projects that meet business requirements, balancing speed-to-market against solution quality, complexity and ongoing maintenance cost.
  • Participates in the full development lifecycle — scoping, estimating and refining requirements, and producing the design detail needed to deliver well-understood solutions.
  • Identifies appropriate technical solutions that meet business objectives, and writes clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
  • Provides solid input into project planning and risk identification, estimating effort and timeframes and scheduling work across multiple initiatives to meet agreed milestones.

Technical Craft & Continuous Improvement

  • Conducts code reviews and constructively critiques peers, upholding engineering standards and consistency across the team.
  • Provides timely analysis of the impact of new ideas from business stakeholders and technology.
  • Contributes to the continual improvement of the team's tools, practices and ways of working, and takes ownership of self-development to keep skills current.

Essential:

  • Tertiary degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or strong equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years' experience in Salesforce development, with proven delivery on production Salesforce projects.
  • Vlocity / Salesforce Industries (OmniStudio) experience, including Industries CPQ (Cart), OmniScripts, DataRaptors and Integration Procedures.
  • Advanced Salesforce platform development experience — Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce platform APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration — validation rules, flows/workflows, assignment rules, approval processes, reports/dashboards, access control, and custom objects/fields.
  • Hands-on Lightning component implementation and design.
  • Experience working in a highly agile environment (ideally Scrum).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to have

  • Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I / II, Omni Studio Developer, or Salesforce Industries CPQ Developer.
  • Experience with CI/CD and SFDX-based deployment tooling (e.g. Gearset, Copado) and Apex test coverage standards.
  • Experience integrating AppExchange tools such as DocuSign.
