Appliedx is a functional Learning and Development team that supports the Engineering organization at Applied Materials. We create learning experiences that increase and sharpen engineers' knowledge and skills. As a Program Manager, Learning, you will lead the development, implementation, and adoption of learning solutions and products. Our Program Managers are just as good at defining the strategy for a program, as diving in deep to a challenge and executing. Because this role is on a Learning team, the right candidate will be comfortable creating and organizing learning content. Appliedx programs touch multiple orgs and business units within the company, so being a change agent is a key to success in this role. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops project plan and oversees from conception and planning to implementation and change management.  Ensures objectives are clearly defined and agreed to across the business unit.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders, such as subject-matter experts (SMEs), department managers and executives to understand their domain and upskilling needs. Conducts needs assessments to identify knowledge or skills gaps.
  • Develops and organizes learning content of various formats and works with SMEs to gather feedback and refine. May include short-form video content creation, onboarding checklist, skills taxonomies, and learning pathways, to name a few.
  • Responsible for managing schedule and task details by utilizing project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklist and project scheduling software.  
  • Leads cross-functional project teams.
  • Works with Instructional Designers to develop new courses and learning offerings
  • Implement BKMs for program evaluation to assess the effectiveness of training programs, collecting feedback from participants, and using data to make data-driven decisions for program improvement.
  • Identifies and resolves potential complications within the program and develops solutions for resolution. 
  • Identification and selection of content vendors and implementation across the company. Manages contracts and vendor relationships.

SPECIFIC PROJECTS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Own the entire learning content library from vendor management to content strategy. Get deep in the detail to seek out inconsistencies and identify solutions to challenges such as course naming and leveling conventions and skill mapping.
  • Take ownership of a legacy learning program, the new hire information portal and success profiles; put processes in place to keep content fresh.
  • Create the strategy and execution plan to launch a podcast series focusing on high value topics for Applied Materials employees. Roll out your execution plan and drive adoption across the business.
  • Support new learning initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interest in Learning & Development as a domain to apply your Program Management expertise
  • Demonstrated impact in full-cycle program management in a large/global company
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Project management skills
  • Desire and ability to learn technical information
  • The ability to communicate clearly (written and oral) and synthesize information from others to determine actionable takeaways
  • The ability to analyze data and drive decision making based on learning analytics
  • Demonstrated ownership and consistent delivery on commitments; exceptional organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • A desire for feedback and continued learning
  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in learning design / instructional design
  • Education or experience in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology-related fields
  • Experience working in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience working for a global manufacturing company
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence across cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment

U.S. Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $165,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
