We’re expanding our Laser engineering team in Thailand and seek an energetic engineer to work in a fast paced, international development environment with direct interaction across the Electrical, Optical and Mechanical engineering teams. The candidate should have technical skills in order to drive product development to volume manufacturing.  

In this position you will take on challenges in areas that include: 

  • Work within cross-functional international teams

  • Create Bill of Materials, production files and work instructions 

  • Collaborate with the process engineering and manufacturing teams for device testing, measurements, and system validation. 

  • Prototype assembly, verification, testing, debugging and troubleshooting. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in Electronics, Optics, Physics, or any related field

  • 4-6 years experience in Process Engineering or related

  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal English 

In addition, the candidate should be proficient in any one of the following fields 

  • Possess knowledge of mounting and alignment techniques applied in the construction of commercial free-space optical assemblies and electro-optical systems. 

  • Understanding of electronics schematics and ability to debug using standard tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes  

  • Failure analysis, ability to conduct scientific experiments and analyze the results 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and program direction in all aspects of manufacturing engineering, such as Process, Equipment Maintenance and Product Performance with focus on optimizing line efficiency through improved yield, cycle times, process stability and line control.

  • Interface effectively with other functional teams within Lumentum such as R&D, Product Engineering and Product Line Management to validate requirements and ensure process or technology milestones are clearly defined and achieved.

  • Set up and qualify assembly and inspection processes such as optical alignment, optical assembly processes.

  • Issue documents such as process flow, work instruction, control plan, visual aids and SPC

  • Lead team of engineers or technicians to solve instant manufacturing problems to achieve desired test results within limited time frame.

  • Provide training to technician and operators.

  • Ensure compliance to quality assurance processes and industry best practices.
