We are recruiting for a Operational Risk Reporting Senior Manager to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has sound knowledge of the asset management industry and the risks associated with this. This includes knowledge of financial instruments and a trade lifecycle.
In an industry built on trust, our Risk & Compliance team is essential to ensuring we uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and governance. As part of this team, you’ll help manage risk in a fast-changing regulatory landscape, safeguard client assets, and contribute to ethical, responsible investing.
A bit about the role:
The Operational Risk Reporting Senior Manager will support the Head of Operational Risk in maintaining a robust, best‑in‑class risk event policy, including associated documentation and systems, ensuring alignment with industry sound practice while balancing simplicity and regulatory requirements. The role will deliver second line oversight to assess how effectively the policy is embedded across the business, escalating material issues where required, and providing an independent, second line view of the Aviva Investors risk event profile for senior stakeholders and governance committees. This includes leading robust challenge and investigation where discrepancies arise, offering technical expertise to support the development of appropriate remedial actions, and presenting independent review outcomes, issues and remediation clearly and confidently. The role holder will represent the second line at relevant committees, forums and working groups, provide effective challenge, support and risk opinion on risk event management matters, and monitor management’s discharge of responsibilities under the policy. They will also ensure that remediation is delivered in a timely manner, produce high‑quality reports and presentations to support management decision‑making, and monitor that approved operational risk reporting decisions are executed as intended.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Degree educated with relevant professional qualification
Hold relevant professional memberships to support role (not mandatory, but highly recommended).
Sound knowledge of risk identification, measurement, management, monitoring and reporting practices across the asset management and other financial services sectors.
Good knowledge of the workings of the FCA and other global regulators, in particular an understanding of their key concerns and how this translates into their objectives in overseeing operational risk management.
Good experience and asset management background.
