Job Description

The Opportunity

Our area has recently undergone several changes to align with our 2030 vision of ‘towards full potential’. As a result, we have an exciting new opportunity and are searching for a Project Manager – Hydrographic with AHCPS Level 1 accreditation to complement our existing collaborative and supportive team who are committed to delivering quality projects.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and delivering on our Nautical Charting HIPP projects, run by the Australian Hydrographic Office. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support projects for other hydrographic offices in the pacific, as well as coastal resilience projects.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from scoping and planning to execution and delivery
  • Upon completion of mobilization, rotate on 4 week offshore cycles during acquisition phase
  • Maintain strong communication with the hydrographic office to establish an ongoing, trusting relationship, ensuring successful project outcomes
  • Work with regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure permitting, hazard’s, emergency response etc are in place
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Attend conferences and run project presentations

Our survey methods include airborne lidar bathymetry, multispectral imaging, and vessel-based multibeam technologies.

About You

Your ability to see things from other people’s perspective and strong communication skills are the foundational attributes which will help you succeed in this impactful role. We are looking for a team player who has:

  • Tertiary education in Surveying, with AHCPS Level 1 accredited Hydrographic Certification
  • Proven hydrographic surveying experience in a similar role
  • Project Management background with sound understanding of PM principles and software
  • Organized, attention to detail with a strong focus on effective resource management
  • Flexible, reliable, independent, and able to work well in a constantly changing environment
