Job Description

He/She is responsible for overseeing and managing a company's financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. He/She also analyzes market conditions, manages risks, and aids management in making sound financial decisions.

Technical Skills:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Coordinate with the process of developing and executing financial plans, conducting financial analysis, and creating financial reports. 

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Managing budgets, conducting financial forecasting, and analyzing market conditions. 

  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and managing financial risks. 

  • Financial Reporting: Coordinate in the preparation of financial statements and reports. 

  • Decision Making: Assisting management in making sound financial decisions.

  • Cash Management: Managing cash flow and ensuring sufficient liquidity. 

  • Investment Analysis: Analyzing investment opportunities and directing investment activities. 

  • Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements in the finance department. 

  • Auditing: Serving as a company liaison with auditors during financial audits. 

Essential Skills:

  • Analytical Skills:
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for conducting financial analysis and making informed decisions. 

  • Financial Modeling:
    Proficiency in creating and using financial models for forecasting and analysis. 

  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent communication skills are needed to interact with various stakeholders and present financial information. 

  • Software Proficiency:
    Familiarity with financial software applications, accounting software, and database management systems. 

  • Leadership Skills:
    Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are needed to manage and motivate the accounting team. 

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is typically required.

  • Professional certifications, such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), are often preferred.

  • Relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or related roles is essential. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Perform financial management duties including coordinating with MY Finance team re: reports on financial data, compiling and submitting reports, analyzing industry trends and assessing the financial health of the company.

  • Oversee the operations and development of the company’s finance departments including creating and reviewing policies, budgeting, recruiting, training and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.

  • Coordinate with the preparation of quarterly and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.

  • Coordinate colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s finances.

  • Supervise the documentation of the company’s financial status and forecasts.

  • Mediate between the organization, employees, stakeholders, shareholders and investors on financial issues for amicable resolution of differences.

  • Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the company’s status and financial forecasts.
