Position Summary

Under general direction, performs statistical analysis and consolidate results for assessment of risk associated with gas and electric distribution systems. Applies results to the electric distribution and gas system risk management models. Develops data management and reporting systems to effectively manage risks within of Asset Management. Performs risk evaluation models as directed by Risk Consultants to identify and recommend risk mitigation. Optimizing distribution risk includes, but is not limited to, determining impacts to system reliability, operational performance, environment, jurisdictional and business financial performance, system safety, legal and regulatory compliance, and brand impact.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs statistical analysis and apply desired results toward meeting distribution risk objectives.
  • Develops and implements methods to retrieve data and report information internally and externally within the industry.
  • Performs risk evaluation models as directed by Risk Consultants to identify and recommend risk mitigation.
  • Defines and coordinates existing and future data requirements for the analysis necessary to optimize delivery system risk. Develop appropriate forms and procedures.
  • Performs standard and ad hoc reporting to Asset Management leadership team.
  • Evaluates, recommends and maintains related software.
  • Respond to daily inquiries for data and reports from the Asset Management team and others, as needed.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years of risk modeling or related work experience required.
  • Engineering/Utility Industry-Knowledge of utility business operations maintenance, engineering and systems.
  • Quantitative/Statistical Modeling-Ability to develop and analyze predictive models, forecasting, and simulation. Ability to perform regression, correlation and trend analysis.
  • Accounting/Financial Modeling-Knowledge of accounting principles. Ability to build financial models. Ability to interpret financial statements.
  • Computer Systems/Information Technology-Advanced ability to use Excel (VBA), Access, MatLab, and other database programs and analytical tools. Advanced ability to collect, extract, and manipulate complex data files.
  • Knowledge of statistics and distribution risk modeling.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $69,700.00 to $99,100.00 per year
