Role Description: 

This role drive clarity on business needs and translates them into scalable data and analytics solutions using modern cloud-native tools (AWS, Databricks), BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI), and GenAI/NLP capabilities. You’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Manager (offshore), Principal Data Engineer, and the onsite product and technology teams to ensure high-value solutions are delivered in alignment with strategic roadmaps and supply chain metrics. 

Roles & Responsibilities:  

• Lead engagement with Supply Chain business SMEs, operations leads, and planners to define, document, and refine analytics product requirements tied to metrics, KPIs, and operational workflows. 

• Act as the bridge between business and technology, articulating solution requirements for data pipelines, transformation logic, BI reporting, and UI enhancements. 

• Partner with engineering leads to define functional and non-functional requirements, breaking epics into actionable features and user stories aligned to agile delivery. 

• Define and evolve end-to-end analytics workflows, including data model definition, validation frameworks, and NLP prompt modeling for GenAI features. 

• Lead product-level discovery for data products, ensuring alignment to Amgen’s digital supply chain strategy, AI enablement roadmap, and technology standards. 

• Own backlog grooming, sprint readiness, and PI planning in coordination with Product Owners, Principal Engineers, and UI/AI teams. 

• Contribute to architectural reviews, impact assessments, data lineage mapping, and validation planning, particularly for GxP-compliant analytics systems. 

• Provide oversight and coaching to junior analysts, enforcing BSA standards, business process modeling best practices, and story-writing hygiene. 

• Champion business adoption through product demos, user training, feedback loop orchestration, and business impact quantification. 

• Collaborate on post-deployment support, enhancements, and upgrades, ensuring business continuity during version transitions (Tableau, PowerBI, Databricks, AWS). 

Basic Qualifications and Experience: 

• 12 to 17 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field  

Functional Skills: 

Must-Have Skills  

• Demonstrated expertise in Supply Chain analytics and familiarity with SAP ECC and Planning System data models (BOMs, MRP, inventory, lead times, etc.). 

• Strong experience working with cloud-based data ecosystems: Databricks, Delta Lake, AWS S3/Glue/Redshift. 

• Expertise in authoring functional specifications, user stories, data requirements, and acceptance criteria for data pipelines and reporting solutions. 

• Hands-on understanding of BI platforms like Tableau and Power BI; experience designing functional wireframes, dashboards, and KPI navigation logic. 

• Familiarity with GenAI/NLP use cases in enterprise settings—prompt design, metric question mapping, knowledge base integration. 

• Proficiency with Agile/SAFe methodologies, user story grooming, sprint participation, and PI planning cadence. 

• Experience working in validated environments (GxP) with traceability and documentation rigor. 

• Strong understanding of data quality and governance principles, as well as business process optimization. 

Good-to-Have Skills: 

• Broad working knowledge of key IS domains and layers 

• Strong understanding of SAP data models (ECC tables) and Supply Chain data domains. 

• Familiarity with UI design considerations, React/Angular workflows, and REST API documentation. 

• Ability to model complex cross-functional business processes and translate them into system workflows. 

• Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps for documentation and backlog management. 

• Success in mentoring and developing strong product analysts, business analysts, and developers 

• Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments with distributed global teams.
