To efficiently perform maintenance and repair on company assembly equipment, machine tools, and assist in maintenance and repair of machining equipment and manufacturing equipment by using cost saving strategies and ensuring Graco quality standards are met.
- Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs of all company-owned machine tools, assembly equipment and Graco owned manufacturing assets.
- Perform complex testing and repair in the area of hydraulics, mechanical elements, electrical and electronics.
- Disassembly of complex equipment, access problems, and reassemble in expeditious manner. Includes electrical systems, Programmable Logic Control systems, hydraulic pumps and systems, gear boxes/transmissions, and pneumatic systems.
- Adjust or repair fixturing, mechanisms, orientation devices, locating and feeding systems, tooling, machine parts, and process equipment.
- Read and understand complex drawings and schematics. Consult with outside contacts and companies to gain advice and options for troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed.
- Promptly respond to customer maintenance requests concerning equipment breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot issues to determine course of action and consult with Maintenance Manager for advice and assistance as needed.
- Provide support to Maintenance Mechanic 1 positions in the form of mentoring, instruction, and counsel in the approach or plan to resolve machine malfunctions.
- Provide support to departmental personnel as workload dictates.
- Keep accurate maintenance records.
- Order parts/supplies and maintain inventory accuracy. Involved in determining inventory levels and parts stocked.
- Meet operational requirements and expectations for accuracy of work, while minimizing waste by caring for product, equipment and facilities.
- Maintain a productive, organized, efficient and team-oriented work environment.
- Follow all required safety guidelines and utilize the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and applicable experience.
- Associates degree in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, fluid power, robotics or related field.
- Recognizing and pursue getting training and/or exposure where there is need and value. Work with Manager to minimize gaps in the ability to support the maintenance of equipment.
Experience
- Minimum moved through Top of Pay range as Maintenance Mechanic 1. Or 5+ years maintenance experience troubleshooting and repairing complex controls/mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic manufacturing equipment in a high-volume environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Proven ability and experience repairing Graco specific equipment.
- Understand safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts, which might cause injury to self, others, or the environment.
- Ability to adjust machines and parameters to original placement or specifications.
- Ability to recognize when utilizing suppliers and OEM machine Technicians are needed or the best path to efficient support. Arrange for and consult with outside suppliers and OEM machine Technicians who perform work in Graco facility. Able to determine when outside resource work is acceptable and complete.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to take work direction and complete tasks in an organized and timely manner.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
