We have an excellent opportunity to join our Finance team as Assistant Accountant, based in Macquarie Park, NSW. In this role, you will support financial operations across ANZ, including month-end and year-end close, and general ledger reconciliations. You will also provide backup support for AP/AR, manage AMEX BTA reconciliations, and deliver monthly travel expense reporting. The role includes participation in audits, preparing and posting journals, and supporting travel and expense training.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support month-end and year-end close processes for AU & NZ entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts to maintain financial integrity.
• Process and post journals, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
• Prepare rebate adjustments, monthly statements, and required financial reporting (including Payment Times Reporting).
• Provide Sydney office facilities management and administrative support as required to management
• Manage corporate travel-related reconciliations, reporting, and administration (e.g. AMEX BTA, BCD Trip Authoriser).
• Deliver monthly OPEX analysis and travel expense insights to support business decision-making.
• Assist with audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and ad-hoc finance and administrative support.

Key skills required include:

• Accounting Degree or equivalent accounting education
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Previous experience using SAP
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong problem solving, analytical and reconciliation skills
• A proactive, adaptable approach with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment
