Job Description:

Join the Physical Security & Crisis Management (PSCM) team as a forward-thinking AI & Automation Champion at the intersection of digital transformation and project management. In this role, you will take a leading role in identifying high-impact automation opportunities, building custom solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, and driving AI literacy across the organization.

This co-op position is designed to develop core Project Coordination and Management skills by putting the student at the center of the team’s AI/Automation digital transformation. You will gain hands-on experience facilitating project calls, conducting formal needs assessments, and delivering tangible continuous improvement (CI) solutions. This is an ideal role for someone looking to bridge the gap between technical AI curiosity and professional project leadership

Preferred skills

  • Project Management Fundamentals: Strong interest in developing competencies such as managing project lifecycles, tracking action items, and facilitating stakeholder meetings to move technical initiatives forward.
  • AI Literacy & Research: Proficiency in leveraging LLMs like Microsoft Copilot and Claude to research emerging tools and identify their practical business applications.
  • Analytical Needs Assessment: Ability to design structured surveys and conduct professional interviews to extract operational requirements from various teams.
  • Low-Code Execution: Practical interest or hands-on experience with Power Automate and the Power Platform to build and deploy automated solutions.
  • Technical Communication: Excellent written skills for curating a monthly AI innovation newsletter and verbal skills for leading project-based discussions.

Qualifications

  • Targeted Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Business Technology Management (BTM), Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field with a strong interest in project coordination. Graduation date of August 2026 or later.
  • Critical Thinking: A self-starter mindset capable of navigating ambiguity and solving problems without requiring step-by-step guidance.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) Mindset: A proactive approach to identifying workflow inefficiencies and a commitment to delivering measurable value.
  • Organizational Excellence: High attention to detail for managing project hygiene, including documentation, timelines, and meeting minutes.
  • Professionalism: Confidence to interact with diverse teams and present data-driven recommendations to leadership

Responsibilities

  • Integrated Project Coordination: Develop management skills by tracking project action items and progressing to lead/facilitate project calls focused on moving AI/Automation initiatives forward.
  • AI Needs Assessment: Conduct formal assessments across existing PSCM teams using surveys and deep-dive interviews to identify highly manual processes and automation opportunities.
  • Strategic Roadmap Delivery: Analyze assessment data to prioritize deployment schedules based on business value, manual capacity saved, and technical feasibility.
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) Delivery: Identify, develop, and deliver three distinct CI projects during the 4-month term, focused on deploying automated solutions that offer tangible value.
  • AI Advocacy: Act as a champion for existing AI tools, researching new use cases and sharing findings via a monthly newsletter to promote a culture of innovation across all teams.
