What you will do
The Strategic Account Executive for our Commercial Real Estate division operates as an executive-level strategic leader, supporting major stakeholders within the commercial real estate sector. This is a dynamic and growth-oriented team at Johnson Controls, focused on driving success in facilities management. This role requires a high-energy, effective leader with a solid foundation in business leadership, C-suite relationships, and a proven track record of managing opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle. We are looking for a diligent, proactive leader who is self-directed, motivated, and operates with personal integrity.
You will build customer awareness and demand for real estate solutions/services that enable clients to achieve their organizational goals through a deep understanding of their needs. This role demands a leader driven by high achievement to successfully drive sales growth and capture significant wallet share from customers. The successful leader will effectively influence and work with senior executives (VP, President) to commit to unique strategic account strategies for growth and relationship management.
How you will do it
Establish and cultivate valued business partnerships with JCI’s largest commercial real estate clients; proactively identifying business opportunities that align with customer priorities and drivers.
Develop and manage strategic account plans that leverage the JCI global footprint and competitive advantages to increase and defend share of wallet spend. Identify business models, influence product roadmaps, and provide direction to resource plans that position JCI as a differentiated leader in the industry.
Passionately advocate for the organization’s strategy; continuously elevate expectations of sales performance and support global team efforts to achieve and surpass ambitious sales goals.
Ensure that the customer’s perspective is a guiding force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes, and individual actions. Act as an advocate for the customer to drive JCI to exceed customer expectations, providing forecasting and pipeline management for realistic plans and performance tracking.
Persuade key partners to take action by illustrating how initiatives will advance shared interests and business objectives aligned with our vision. Build and maintain strategic global relationships with clients, potential partners, and internal stakeholders who provide valuable insights and expertise to address business challenges.
Utilize knowledge of economic, financial, market, and industry trends to drive customer success and apply understanding of business functions, industry trends, and JCI’s position to contribute to effective strategies and tactics.
Demonstrate a strong ability to influence the organization and navigate complex global structures, creating and implementing strategies that build commitment and organizational buy-in for customer solutions.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field with 5-7 years of experience, or at least 10 years of dynamic professional experience in a similar role and industry.
Extensive experience selling to executive levels, including negotiating and securing large opportunities, with a proven track record of closing deals.
Expertise in physical security or building automation within commercial real estate.
Strong knowledge of the technology ecosystem, including relationships with large investor-owned companies.
Technical inclination to develop in-depth knowledge of technology roadmaps and digital strategies to create customer-focused solutions.
Comfortable with the entire sales process, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency in achieving revenue targets.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and approach each day and opportunity with passion and enthusiasm.
Willingness to travel up to 25%+ of the time.
Preferred
Master’s degree.
Experience with fire suppression and/or detection systems, HVAC, and other commercial building solutions.
Technology savvy, with proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
