Position Requirements

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Business Technology provides strategic leadership, oversight, and execution of enterprise technology initiatives supporting anesthesia clinical operations, revenue cycle management, compliance, and business growth. This executive reports to the Chief Operating Officer and serves as a key partner to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and clinical leadership to ensure that technology platforms optimize anesthesia delivery, enhance provider productivity, ensure regulatory compliance, and maximize financial performance.

Responsible for the strategy, governance, and execution of enterprise technology including infrastructure, cybersecurity, clinical systems, business applications, data platforms, and emerging technologies supporting anesthesia operations and corporate services.

This role requires deep understanding of anesthesia practice management, hospital-based services, clinical workflows, and healthcare reimbursement models.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multi-year Business Technology roadmap aligned with organizational growth in anesthesia services.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify technology-enabled efficiencies across perioperative services.
  • Lead enterprise digital transformation initiatives including analytics, automation, AI-enabled clinical documentation, interoperability, and advanced data platforms.
  • Establish enterprise architecture standards to ensure scalable and interoperable technology platforms across clinical, operational, and financial systems.
  • Lead annual IT investment planning and technology investment prioritization aligned with organizational growth and operational strategy.
  • Oversee enterprise technology budgeting and cost optimization strategies to ensure responsible investment and measurable return on technology initiatives.

2. Clinical Systems Oversight

  • Oversee anesthesia information management systems
  • Ensure optimization of perioperative workflows, anesthesia documentation, and charge capture accuracy.
  • Drive standardization across hospital and ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) environments.

3. Revenue Cycle & Financial Technology

  • Lead anesthesia billing system optimization and integration with EHR platforms.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships for RCM platforms or anesthesia-specific billing systems.
  • Implement analytics tools to monitor:

  • Develop enterprise anesthesia dashboards (case minutes, utilization, staffing ratios).
  • Implement predictive analytics for staffing models and call burden.
  • Ensure real-time reporting for hospital contracts and executive review.

5. Innovation & Emerging Technology

  • Ensure real-time reporting for hospital contracts and executive review.
  • Lead implementation of AI, automation, and digital tools to improve anesthesia documentation, workflow efficiency, and revenue cycle performance.
  • Evaluate emerging healthcare technologies and digital platforms to support enterprise growth, operational efficiency, and clinical innovation.

6. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure HIPAA compliance across all systems.
  • Support regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee cybersecurity initiatives and vendor risk management.
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity strategy including threat monitoring, incident response planning, and security framework compliance (NIST, HITRUST, and other applicable standards).
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to ensure resilience of critical clinical and operational systems.

7. Infrastructure & Integration

  • Lead system integrations.
  • Support scalable infrastructure for multi-state anesthesia operations.

8. Vendor & Contract Management

  • Negotiate enterprise technology contracts.
  • Conduct ROI analysis on new system investments.
  • Manage third-party service providers and consultants.

9. Team Leadership

  • Build and lead high-performing IT, analytics, and business systems teams.
  • Establish governance structure for project prioritization.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • MBA, MHA, or relevant executive certification preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare IT leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting anesthesia compensation models and productivity analytics.
  • Experience with hospital contracting and multisite operations preferred.

Total Rewards:

  • Salay: $259,114.00- $388,670.00 annually
