Requirements and Nature of Work:

Requirements: 

  • Understanding of translational research concepts, including study design, statistics (overview), knowledge of or experience with regulatory processes (e.g., REB/IRB; Health Canada; Good Clinical Practice [GCP]; EDI considerations in research).

  • Must have graduate level training in Clinical Translational Medicine (CTM), ideally, or research experience focused on translational research (e.g., Clinical Neuroscience; Psychology; Epidemiology etc). Past teaching experience will be preferred.

  • Preferred qualifications: Completion of relevant courses (ideally CTM) in the past 2 years with a high course grade is considered an asset.

  • This is an online course (with perhaps 1-2 in person sessions – TBD); thus, proficiency with online tools is required. Access to online tools/internet/private place is required.

Nature of Work:

  • Contact with students (~30 hours): Leading/facilitating discussion groups (online/virtual environment); leading optional review sessions for students before assignments, responding to student emails.

  • Being present at all courses (mainly virtual). The course is currently scheduled for 3-6PM on Wed (Fall 2025)

  • Preparation (~15 hours):

  • Assisting with developing discussion group questions and assignment questions.

  • Uploading documents to Brightspace (or assisting with this), organizing the breakout groups during each lecture and monitoring attendance and participation (i.e., moderating discussions; ensuring that cameras are turned on), developing assignment modules in Brightspace and grading.

  • Regular weekly meetings with course coordinator/instructors (virtual) will be required.
