The role of Naval Programme Engineering Manager, GE Power Conversion and Storage UK, is an exceptional opportunity for your capabilities, enthusiasm and experience to make a real impact at one of the leading energy technology companies working on major, global projects.   

The Naval Programme Engineering Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating engineering programme delivery as part of a multi-organisation team, throughout the full lifecycle of a major UK project.  You will have the opportunity to work from project concept through to design, manufacture, commissioning and into service.

Working in a class-leading, multi-disciplinary team of engineers you will bring your extensive expertise in Integrated Logistics Support and In-Service Support of military equipment, ideally with knowledge of relevant military standards and regulatory requirements. 

As part of this role, you will work in a dedicated, cross functional team across several world leading companies.

You will have responsibility for the following activities:

  • Owning and discharging engineering elements of the schedule including any associated Dependencies, Assumptions, Risks, Exclusions, and Opportunities (DAREO) or value assessment management.
  • Co-ordinating the delivery of engineering sub-system deliverables and overall system deliverables.
  • Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel (SQEP) resourcing across the multi-organisational team, including management resourcing (incl. succession planning, training, SQEP matrix etc.).
  • Managing engineering change process including co-ordination of technical impact assessment to proposed changes.
  • Integrated supply chain status management (including engagement with Customer on Supplier performance)
  • Support to the Chief Engineer interface into broader programme through various operating forums

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum of a degree or equivalent qualification, or higher, for example Masters or PhD in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrable engineering programme management knowledge and experience within the UK Defence sector, ideally with the UK Royal Navy.
  • Is a sole UK National and holds, or be eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level.
  • Able to travel within base country and overseas for short-term working.
