Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Project Planner Intern for Summer, 2025. The position is based in Hagerstown, MD.

Objectives:

  • Develop skills and knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.
  • Mentorship: Receive guidance and mentorship from experienced production planning professionals.
  • Assist Planning manager and team with Planning, analysis and other procedural improvements.
  • Participate in the execution of development projects.
  • Support the development and integration of documentation processes to ensure consistency and accuracy within the department and the organization.
  • Participate in providing project status updates as required.
  • Works under close supervision of the Integrated Planning Manager and Planning Lead.

Accountabilities

  • Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate meetings and facilitate effective communication among project team members.
  • Prepare or file documents related to the project.
  • Collect and collate data to track performance.
  • Conduct research and assist in preparing written documents.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret production data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with complex data and ensure precision in reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Junior or Senior standing or enrolled in a Master’s program.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite.

Education:

  • Current Engineering or Business student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December, 2025 and December, 2026.

The hourly pay for this position is $20 per hour.
