About the Role


In this opportunity as Sr. AWS Engineer, you will:

  • Develop/enhance data Orchestration for the use and management of the Snowflake data warehouse and the surrounding entitlements, pipelines, and monitoring, in partnership with Data Analysts and Architects with guidance from the Lead Engineer.
  • Innovate with new approaches to meeting data requirements.
  • Collaborate with Data Modelers and Data Engineers to execute Thomson Reuters target state strategy.
  • Utilize your experience in the following areas: AWS Cloud Data practices (particularly Lambda & CloudFormation)
  • AWS Dev Ops tooling
  • Data orchestration
  • Data Security, Privacy, and Compliance
  • Data governance as it applies to security and privacy.
  • Perform data requirement capture and analysis as needed for the projects.
  • Effectively communicate and liaise with other data teams embedded across the organization and data consumers in data science and business analytics teams. 


About you

You're a fit for the role of Sr. AWS Engineer if your background includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in working with databases, data warehouses or Data and Analytics or technology operations.
  • AWS services and management, including Serverless, Container, Queueing, and Monitoring services.
  • Programming languages: Python, PySpark
  • Experience in building and maintaining optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting.
  • Data interchange formats: Parquet, JSON, CSV
  • Broad understanding of the technologies used to build and operate data and analytic systems.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, presentation, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Cloud security and compliance, privacy, GDPR
  • Skilled in the following: AWS, SQL, Python, Snowflake, and Apache Airflow.
  • Hands-on experience with programming and scripting languages.
