Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for a Senior Mechanic to Lead Mechanic to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used for a variety of projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as other MES operated facilities throughout the state.

This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required. Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and must have a valid driver’s license meeting the requirements of Maryland law, with less than 5 points. The position will require the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.

Estimated Pay Range:

Senior Mechanic:  $53,131.16 - $73,055.88

Lead Mechanic:  $58,444.70 - $80,361.47

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate. The Senior Mechanic position requires five (5) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment. The Lead Mechanic position requires seven (7) years of experience.  Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis for up to three (3) years of the required experience.
