Job Description

Within the Sustaining Products (SPR) Manufacturing Engineering team, you will support the production of high-precision electron microscopes, working on complex electromechanical modules that directly impact system performance and reliability.

In this role, you will combine hands-on engineering with problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) meet the highest quality and performance standards.

What You’ll Do

Working with mechatronic modules and their integration into SEM systems, you will:

Production & Problem Solving

  • Support production by analyzing and resolving technical issues

  • Provide engineering input for non-conforming materials
  • Act as a key technical interface for manufacturing teams

Product & Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement and redesign activities

  • Optimize manufacturing processes and product performance
  • Define and maintain manufacturing specifications and documentation

Testing & Validation

  • Perform prototype testing and functional validation

  • Design and implement test equipment and fixtures (internal & suppliers)

Collaboration & Expertise

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, and Service

  • Support shopfloor teams through training and knowledge sharing
  • Act as a subject matter expert within your domain

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar (with overlap into electronics)
  • Experience with 3D CAD tools
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills with a hands-on mindset
  • Ability to work in a complex, global organization
  • Independent and proactive approach
  • English proficiency (written & spoken)
  • Willingness to travel (~10%)
