Echo / Vascular Technologist – Registry Eligible

Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week
St. George Regional Hospital
Pay Range: $26.47 – $40.87 per hour (dependent upon experience)

St. George Regional Hospital, part of Intermountain Health, is seeking a Registry‑Eligible Echo / Vascular Technologist to join our imaging team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or technologists actively preparing for ARDMS or CCI registry exams who are looking to build strong clinical experience in a collaborative, patient‑focused environment.

Job Summary

The Echo / Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with department protocols, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and high‑quality imaging outcomes. This position works closely with physicians and caregivers to support accurate diagnosis and coordinated patient care.

Essential Functions

  • Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate ultrasound exams with physicians, caregivers, patients, and referring offices
  • Prepare patients for exams by verifying patient identification, explaining procedures, and transporting patients as needed
  • Perform echocardiography and/or vascular ultrasound exams according to established protocols and quality standards
  • Operate ultrasound equipment appropriately while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and dignity
  • Monitor patient condition throughout the exam and ensure safe return to patient room following procedures
  • Communicate patient needs and exam findings appropriately with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families
  • Accurately document exam results and required information in the medical record
  • Charge correctly for exams and supplies
  • Identify equipment or supply issues and follow appropriate channels for resolution
  • Support departmental quality improvement initiatives and team‑based workflows
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and expand clinical competence

Note: This role may be held for up to one year from program completion, unless the caregiver is actively attempting registry exams in accordance with ARDMS or CCI requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registry eligible to sit for ARDMS or CCI boards in cardiac or vascular sonography within one year of hire
  • Participation in and/or graduation from an accredited or certificate ultrasound program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Participation in or completion of the Intermountain Adult Echocardiography Program
