About The Role

Reporting to the Sr. Service Manager / Director - Operations, Commercial Lines, the role is responsible for the implementation and execution of marketing initiatives to support organic growth and revenue retention within the Middle to Large Commercial segment. This role will manage the Marketing & Carrier Placement Team in the assigned region, to ensure optimization of the marketing process, operational efficiencies, strategic carrier partnerships and change management. The role will collaborate with and work closely with the operations leadership team. This role will influence and support a positive culture and work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the marketing specialist employees within assigned region.

  • Communicate consistently with Operations Directors and Head of Operations as necessary.

  • Execute marketing initiatives that support organic growth and retention goals through collaboration with members of the leadership team.

  • Implement standard operating practices creating efficiencies through use of technology and processes.

  • Responsible for leading and implementing key carrier strategic initiatives to achieve placement and revenue goals.

  • Contributor to regional carrier relationships; ensuring professional interactions of operations team, establishing service level agreements, negotiation, and implementation of contract enhancements in collaboration with executive leadership and practice leaders.

  • Responsible for effective communication and collaboration to achieve marketing goals.

  • Collaboration with human resources around personnel management and employee relations.

  • Responsible for managing timelines and processes during the new business process and renewal process, inclusive of exposure analysis, quote specifications, analysis and negotiation of coverage offers, and preparation and presentation of coverage proposals.

  • Review insurance policies and contracts and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Work with marketing specialists to prepare property and casualty insurance submissions for new business prospects and renewing accounts including, but not limited to: Insurance specifications for each line of coverage, Acord applications using firm’s agency management system, loss summaries, prospect profile, exposure schedules, etc.

  • Attend prospects and proposal meetings with producer, as needed.

  • Analyze excel spreadsheets of prospect client exposure and/or loss data, as well as develop financial models of loss sensitive programs, when necessary.

  • Host prospect and carrier phone calls.

  • Maintain familiarity and positive working relationship with strategic carriers & wholesalers.

  • Handle confidential and non-routine information.

  • Abide by and maintain all licensing requirement, including continuing education.

  • Attend seminars, company meetings, carrier events and educational activities needed to improve overall job expertise and product knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, along with a demonstrated attention to detail

  • Superior skills in team leadership, employee development, and employee engagement

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial data and reporting.

  • Ability to establish credibility and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders through ethics, integrity, professionalism, and mutual respect.

  • Effective change management, time management, and follow-up skills

  • Proven record of accomplishment of leading a team in a fast-paced work environment

  • Proficient computer skills with agency management software systems

  • Travel up to 20%.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, or equitable experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of technical commercial lines insurance experience

  • Minimum 2 years successfully managing a team, or equitable experience.

  • Licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance
