The Data Strategy Team is responsible for defining and implementing the data strategy to meet the Operations Executive Division’s strategic alignments related to data and analytics. As a Senior Data Governance Advisor in the Operations Sector, you’re responsible for supporting the sector’s data stewards, meeting and ensuring compliance with data requirements to improve data knowledge and quality, all while governing data use. You help implement and manage the processes needed to ensure make optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy, privacy policies, security and quality in mind. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Advise data producers and users to help them better understand how to valorize data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance.

  • Advise and train teams on how to apply data management processes and controls properly.

  • Develop and maintain data governance logs, tools and dashboards.

  • dentify the sector’s data governance and valorization needs and opportunities.

  • Help teams analyze risks and potential gaps between what is set out in the governance documents and their operational practices.

  • Develop and implement practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with the governance documents that apply to data.

  • Measure and monitor the performance of the standards and the practices in place, including changes in data governance maturity.

  • Implement initiatives stemming from the governance pillar of the executive division’s data and analytics strategy.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, statistics, finance or a related field

  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in project management and continuous improvement (Agile / Lean)

  • Experience as a change and transformation agent

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Expertise in document analysis and documentation processes

  • Knowledge of banking operations sectors

  • Knowledge of analytics tools, data management and their application in a business environment

  • Knowledge of governance documents and standards for managing, using and sharing data
