In a context of Automation, Innovation, Digitalisation but also in a period where Data Integrity and Cyber Security must be strongly improved and monitored, the responsibilities and the expertise of the “Lab Computers management” team are significantly increasing.

Integration strategies can vary from “simple software installation and local configuration” to “cross-sites and cross-functions Client/Server applications” requiring associated efforts in term of resources, expertise, TCO budget (installation project + day-to-day administration and maintenance).

The exposure to Cyber threats and the risks of business disruptions, and potential losses, should be reduced by ensuring the right level of controls, in respect to Operational Technologies standards (abr. OT), applicable for all analytical computerized systems.

As senior expert, you:

  • Actively contribute for the definition of network integration strategies for R&D computerized Lab systems, in line with GSK Tech rules and policies, based on business requirements and following QA and Cyber Security experts’ recommendations.

  • Actively participate in and provide business input into the design, documentation, implementation and continued support of OT cybersecurity standards and associated tools (e.g., access management tool) and controls.  This would include the maintenance of these controls and their associated documentation post deployment

  • Liaise with business line leaders, science, and engineering SMEs within the business area, in making cybersecurity decisions. 

  • Collaborate with R&D Digital & Tech and Central Tech, including the Cybersecurity Office (CSO), and Global Products & Technology (GP&T) stakeholders to ensure the controls proposed to mitigate the risk are appropriate for the business area, correctly implemented and adopted consistently by the business area.

  • Ensure review and approval of Firewall (FW) rules, reference architecture, VLAN strategy and high-level strategy for local deployment.

  • Assess OT vulnerabilities and prepare Cyber crisis management, OT alerts, OT responses

  • Manage internal network of local experts and ensure sharing of best practice and learnings in area of expertise

  • Ensure for new equipment commissioning projects, the definition of landscape design for "computerized system(s)", in respect to tech rules, but also to Data integrity and cyber security standards

  • Ensure identification and application of appropriate OT/Cyber Security controls for CAPEX projects in R&D Belgium

  • Communicate and shared knowledge of best practices & current trends, acquired both internally & externally on Cyber Security Threats and Protection

  • Embed Cyber Security into all solutions and ways-of-working along the system’s life cycle

  • Create SOP/WKI and other guidance documents in the field of expertise

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Computer Sciences (IT Integration, IT Support, IT Infrastructure, IT Services (ITIL), Cyber Security): Master level or equivalent by experience

  • Expertise in defining network integration solutions for computerized lab systems

  • Strong experience with Lab and IT activities, advanced knowledge in IT Infrastructure and IT Risks and Compliance aspects

  • Experience and advanced knowledge in industry standards and practices, in the field of Cyber Security (International Society of Automation, National Institute for Standards and Technologies)

  • Proven experience in the field of analytical lab equipment (GAMP, CFR 21)

  • Experience with Quality Assurance in pharmaceutical environment.  

  • Fluent in French and Englis
