The Role:

The Inventory Control Coordinator manages inventory accuracy across the Plymouth Distribution Center and adjacent production facility. This role oversees cycle counting, monitors inventory movements, resolves discrepancies, and ensures compliance with SAP and site inventory processes. Working closely with Operations, Production, Materials, Receiving, and Inventory teams, the coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for inventory-related activities and supports operational readiness ahead of S4 implementation.

Core Responsibilities:

To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Manage the cycle count program for the distribution center and production areas

  • Investigate inventory variances and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues

  • Ensure inventory adjustments are documented, approved, and accurately recorded in SAP

  • Perform targeted audits on high-risk, high-volume, and exception inventory

  • Monitor inventory movements in SAP to maintain accuracy and compliance

  • Support production teams to ensure material usage and WIP transactions are recorded correctly

  • Maintain records for adjustments, scrap, and write-offs in coordination with Finance

  • Assist with year-end physical inventories and internal/external audits

  • Serve as the primary site contact for inventory processes and material flow questions

  • Partner with Operations, Production, Materials, Purchasing, and DC teams to drive improvements

  • Work closely with the Inventory Clerk to support daily inventory transactions

  • Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Support system readiness and process discipline for S4 implementation

  • Ensure inventory processes comply with company policies and audit requirements

  • Maintain inventory SOPs, work instructions, and training materials

  • Support proper storage, labeling, and housekeeping to maintain inventory control

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, production support, or materials management.

  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems (inventory movements, cycle counts, adjustments).

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate discrepancies systematically.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work across DC, production, and materials functions.

  • Basic analytical skills, including comfort with Excel, reporting tools, and data validation.

  • Ability to balance administrative tasks with floor-level engagement as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting both production and warehouse environments.

  • Familiarity with SLOC setup, BOM-driven consumption, and WIP material flow.

  • Understanding of SOX controls, audit requirements, and inventory compliance.

  • Exposure to S4 or involvement in ERP transition activities.

  • Participation in CI/Lean activities, especially those related to material flow or inventory accuracy.

The estimated pay range for this position is $26/hr. to 30/hr.. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
