As an integral role of the Finance and Accounting Department at Capital Chevrolet Buick GMC Calgary, the Accounting Clerk will work as part of the finance team with daily reconciling, posting and reporting. The position will support the finance team with general administrative duties as well.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Accounts Receivable: Processing accounts receivable invoices and sending out account statements to vendors. This includes invoicing and posting receipts. Reporting on daily bank transactions for multiple bank accounts, currencies, and companies

  • Posting journal entries of transactions. Credit card reconciliations and postings through expense technology

  • Daily reconciliation of divisional paperwork balancing sales, this includes cash and credit card transactions.

  • Accounts Payable: Processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. This includes posting invoices and preparing cheques for payments

  • Reporting on daily bank transactions for multiple bank accounts, currencies, and companies

  • Posting journal entries of transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience or Accounting/Business certificate, or diploma, in Accounting or Business with a minimum of 1 year working in an accounting environment

  • Mid level proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office

  • Experience working with accounting software and technologies; Reynolds & Reynolds experience would be an asset

  • Organized and ability to prioritize

  • Strong mathematical ability

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-faceted business

  • Ability to deal with changing priorities and multi-task

  • Positive attitude and a desire to contribute to the team

  • Valid driver license

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
