Let's start with the role
As an MLRO you will be dealing with Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Financing of Terrorism (“AML/CFT”) matters on a daily basis, making sure all Control Frameworks of Kaizen are fully operating effectively.
What you’ll bring:
o Preparing the ML/TF prevention manual to meet the needs of the regulator and management and coordinating the procedures for its due approval;
o Implementing the policies, procedures and controls provided in the ML/TF Prevention System for its correct functioning, the Client Due Diligence measures, the Continued Client Due Diligence measures, the alerts, the monitoring system and the established procedure for the efficient management of unusualities, as well as the adequate administration and mitigation of ML/TF risks;
o Proposing to the Board the annual work plan and preparing reports on their management;
o Duly notifying the Board about the results of the evaluation carried out by the internal audit and the independent external review;
o Working closely with other senior managers across Kaizen to identify, assess and mitigate the regulatory compliance risks posed to the firm and determining the priorities and resources required to effectively control them;
o Managing the suspicious activity reporting process, internally and externally in a timely manner;
o Responding promptly to any request for information made by the local Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) or any other Authority / Law Enforcement Agency, serving as a liaison;
o Preparing, implementing and updating the training plan, and keeping a control record about the level of compliance with the training plan provided;
o Continuously ensuring that all AML/CFT processes are fit for purpose, based on the guides, best practices and feedback documents communicated by the local FIU / Regulator;
o Supporting the business before and after the launch of products/services to ensure regulatory requirements are met, as appropriate;
o Working cross-functionally with other teams to ensure compliance with AML/CFT requirements and internal policies;
Our Requirements:
● A bachelor’s degree with a relevant Master’s degree preferred or a professional qualification from an internationally recognized body (e.g. ICA, ACAMS);
● 3+ years of experience in an MLRO role;
● Team management skills including the ability to oversee compliance and control activities within a leading global gaming operator;
● Knowledge and experience of best practices and money laundering typologies in the gaming industry;
● Strong analytical and investigative skills with an attention to detail;
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
● Ability to manage workload effectively and in a timely manner;
● Fluency in English and Spanish;
● Excellent knowledge and understanding of financial crime and AML policies and procedures in the gaming operation;
● Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution;
● Deep knowledge of the regulatory environment and key financial crime regimes.
