Sr. Credit Portfolio Manager-Healthcare

Denver, CO or Chicago, IL

The Senior Credit Portfolio Manager manages the credit risk at with the UMB specialized segments. This position identifies potential risk, monitors existing loans or debt instruments, and develops strategies to mitigate these risks. In addition, the Senior Credit Portfolio Manager underwrites and implements credit policies and procedures.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages a portfolio of credit products in order to achieve growth, profitability, and risk objectives.
  • Conducts analysis of customer behavior and trends in order to identify opportunities for product development and improvement.
  • Manages the end-to-end product lifecycle for assigned products, including but not limited to: product design and development, pricing, promotion, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on assigned products, providing input and guidance on product strategy, features, and benefits.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external partners, including but not limited to: sales, marketing, operations, finance, and compliance.
  • Monitors and reports on key performance indicators for assigned products, taking action as necessary to ensure desired results are achieved.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and developments, identifying potential threats and opportunities for the business.
  • Proactively identifies and manages risks associated with assigned products, working with relevant parties to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Prepares and presents reports on portfolio performance to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required  
  • 5+ years of experience as a Credit Analyst, Portfolio Manager or Commercial Loan Officer required
  • 2+ years of experience in Healthcare lending preferred  
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of general economic theory as it relates to the lending and business environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of credit analysis, risk analysis, and accounting and finance principles
  • Working knowledge of commercial credit and appropriate banking laws and regulations
  • Strong credit underwriting skills with experience in credit structuring and prudently accommodating customer credit needs
  • Proven track record of demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness with a focus on finding ways to improve and promote quality required  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer and credit information required  
  • Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with minimal supervision required  
  • Thorough understanding of bank policies and procedures required  
  • Experience with ProfitMax, InfoAccess, Capitalstream and Credit Lens (Moody’s), AS400/Fiserv and/or other related computer programs required  
  • RMA - Credit Risk Certification - CRC - Risk Management Association - RMA within 1-1/2 Yrs preferred  

Compensation Range:

$63,830.00 - $136,580.00
