The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in providing leadership and oversight to ensure strict adherence to processes, policies, and regulatory compliance standards. This includes overseeing the timely, complete, and accurate accounting for assigned legal entities within BMI. The role demands a proactive approach to ensure compliance with local statutory regulations, in addition to maintaining alignment with BMI policies and standards.

The Senior Accountant is also responsible for providing continuous, qualitative support to our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner, leveraging their expertise to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness. Furthermore, they are tasked with leading efforts to achieve and continuously improve Record to Report (R2R) accounting KPI targets, demonstrating strategic thinking and initiative in optimizing financial performance and processes.

What you will be responsible for:

• Act as a key R2R team member of France market while driving the resolution of complex queries raised by accountants, team lead, manager, finance partners & other internal and external stakeholders

• Investigate & analyse accounting software (SAP, HFM) related process flow issues following find it-fix it-solve it approach

• Monitor month-end closing progress while adhering to KPIs

• Analyse financial data and make recommendations for accounting issues & controls

• Act as SME and SPOC of the assigned R2R process (ex. intercompany flow, VAT, BS reconciliations etc)

• Coach and mentor R2R accountants in regards to the end-to-end accounting knowledge including newcomers

• Suggest ideas and drive initiatives related to the process improvements

• Assist R2R TL with the requested deliverables for various analysis or strategic decisions making

• Ensure ongoing cooperation with the Sr Accountants of L2C/S2P towers to improve existing end-to-end processes and ensure timely issues resolution

• Maintain long-term collaborative cooperation with the L2C/S2P towers, BPO partner & business stakeholders

• Support audit processes and ensure collaboration with external auditors 

• Other ad-hoc requests assigned by the R2R TL or manager

About you:

• At least 3-5 years of proven professional experience in R2R (GL) accounting position within GBS or SSC

• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP, IFRS). A preference for candidates who have knowledge of French GAAP. 

• Advanced ERP process flows understanding (SAP etc)

• Advanced Consolidation System user (HFM etc)

• Proficiency in using Advanced MS Excel and/or Google Sheets

• Strong problem solving skills 

• Process minded and analytical thinking

• Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently

• Strong engagement with all  stakeholders

• Fluent in English

• Willingness to learn and develop professionally in a fast-paced environment

The gross monthly salary for this role is between 3000 and 3600 EUR gross, with the final offer reflecting your qualifications and experience.
