The position of Key Account Manager ID Distribution (m/f/d) is within our Business Unit Infectious Diseases located at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Germany GmbH, Cologne. 

This role will be responsible for managing and developing key accounts in DACH Region to achieve sales targets and ensure customer satisfaction. We are looking for a strategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skills, who can build strong relationships with clients and understand their needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of markets and customers (especially new customers), achieving sales targets, providing general customer service in the distribution customer base within the various areas of his responsibility
  • Identify opportunities to grow business with existing clients
  • Responsibility for the development and execution of the Abbott ID product portfolio
  • Lead and initiate projects or work as part of a project team as required, demonstrate excellent business acumen and strive to meet and exceed agreed financial and strategic objectives
  • Participating all sales and marketing meetings as well as all important congresses 
  • Act as the main point of contact between the company and key accounts
  • Leading and controlling all sales strategies and transferring the Abbott marketing campaigns into the field
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to clients
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profit
  • Ability to articulate issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long term strategic business with customers of national significance

  • Provide regular reports on account status and performance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • Primary degree in BA or equivalent work experience in the field of diagnostics
  • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager or in similar role
  • Strong sales and negotiations skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role, ideally in a comparable environment
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in In-Vitro Diagnostics, Medical Devices or similar environment
  • Detailed understanding of the Medtech industry
  • Ideally experience in leadership of a team and with a distribution customer base
  • Ideally experience delivering change initiatives and facilitating change in a customer focused organization.

  • Experience in CRM systems
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
