Today, Cilag AG is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Switzerland, supplying major global markets. Our Schaffhausen facility is a strategic launch and growth site for parenteral products, with an impressive pipeline of new and innovative products.

We are searching for the best talent to join us as a Senior Materials Requirements Planner in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.

Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for coordination and execution of all activities related to the planning and procurement of raw materials and packaging components. You will convert the output of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and the Detailed Schedule (DS) into material requirements to ensure availability of the right quantity of components to the production lines when needed.  You will align the plan with suppliers within the agreed lead times and optimize the flow of materials, considering the plant’s warehouse capacity and inventory targets. You will also proactively mitigate potential supply disruptions, optimizing storage costs and avoiding material scrap (SLOB).

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the Materials Requirements Plan (MRP) and aligning it with suppliers.
  • Converting material requirements into purchase orders and updating plans within the Integrated Business Planning cycle.
  • Managing inventory to target, minimizing excess and obsolete materials, and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Monitoring stock levels, mitigating risks, and escalating issues through the Supplier Troubleshooting & Escalation Management process when needed.
  • Driving supplier performance, leading SOP meetings, and ensuring supplier On Time In Full (OTIF) in partnership with Global Procurement.
  • Collaborating cross‑functionally to resolve supply or quality issues.
  • Managing returns or disposal of rejected materials in partnership with Quality, Warehouse, and suppliers.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and material/component introductions and phase‑outs.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Additionally, Supply Chain certification such as APICS or Lean certification is desirable.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Supply Chain (planning, logistics, manufacturing).
  • Preferably experience in healthcare or similarly regulated, complex industries.
  • Supply chain planning experience required - preferably in a multi-echelon supply chain. Experience working with external local and international partners such as suppliers and authorities - preferred.
  • Very good written and oral communications skills. English is required and German is desirable.
  • Experience with SAP and/or OMP (Supply Chain Planning Software) and high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and work proactively and with a sense of urgency.

At Johnson & Johnson, we want every candidate to feel supported throughout the hiring process. Our goal is to make the experience clear, fair, and respectful of your time.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Application review: We’ll carefully review your CV to see how your skills and experience align with the role.
  • Getting to know you: If there’s a good match, you’ll be invited to a short call with one of our recruitment team to understand more about you and answer any questions that you might have.
  • Staying informed: We know waiting can be hard and processes can evolve; our recruitment team will keep you updated and make sure you know what to expect at each step.
  • Final steps: For successful candidates, you will need to complete country-specific checks before starting your new role. We will help guide you through these.

Finally, at the end of the process, we’ll invite you to share feedback in a short survey — your input helps us continue improving the experience for future candidates. Thank you for considering a career with Johnson & Johnson. We’re excited to learn more about you and wish you the best of luck in the process! #RPOEMEA
