Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proper load securement techniques
  • Explain procedures for securing various types of cargo
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on drivers' load securement methods

Specific Areas of Training:

  • Cargo Inspection
  • Working Load Limits (chains, nylon straps, rope)
  • Securing Cargo Types (coils, lumber, pipe containers, wire, rebar, sheetrock)
  • Tarping Techniques
  • Job Site and Workplace Safety
  • Customer Policies and Procedures

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit strong leadership skills with the ability to educate and motivate in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide instruction and guidance on all aspects of flatbed load securement per FMCSA and Western Express standards
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports
  • Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and management

Qualifications:

  • Experience in load securement and flatbed operations preferred
  • OSHA, TIA, OE, or related safety/mechanical certifications (preferred but not required)
  • Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions when safe to do so

Work Environment:

Due to the collaborative nature of this role, in-person, in-office attendance is essential for effective training delivery, team collaboration, and prompt response to operational needs.
