CommBank’s Financial Crime Services is looking for an experienced Senior Analyst to be part of our Strategic Reporting and Operational Intelligence team, sitting within the Financial Crime Operations Strategy and Performance team.

The Strategy & Performance function is an enablement function that supports Financial Crime Operations to meet performance and quality objectives. S&P works in partnership with the FCO teams to set the strategic direction, drive operational performance, define operating model as well as provide core enablement functions including: governance, workforce optimisation, performance insights, strategic initiatives, change management, capability, communications, etc.

As a Senior Analyst, Strategic Reporting and Operational Intelligence, you will play a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful reporting and analytics to support senior leadership decision‑making across Financial Crime Operations.

You will support the development and maintenance of FCO’s operational reporting, provide day‑to‑day performance insights, and conduct targeted deep dives to understand drivers of performance outcomes. This includes analysing queue performance, identifying trends and risks, and highlighting opportunities for productivity and quality uplift.

You will work closely with stakeholders across FCO, Strategy & Performance, Technology and SMEs to ensure reporting is robust, well‑understood, and fit‑for‑purpose.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain operational performance reporting and insights across key Financial Crime metrics (e.g. queue response times, throughput, productivity and quality indicators)
  • Conduct data analysis and targeted deep dives to identify drivers of performance outcomes and emerging issues
  • Support investigations into Financial Crime operational issues, ensuring insights are clearly articulated and next steps identified
  • Contribute to the development and uplift of operational reporting, including metric definitions, data rules, and reporting logic
  • Support senior leadership and governance reporting, including LT, NFRC and board‑level packs
  • Work with stakeholders to validate data integrity, understand trends, and resolve data quality issues
  • Assist in translating operational insights into practical improvement opportunities across FCO
  • Support the scaling of operational intelligence and reporting capabilities within Financial Crime Operations

Skills & experience

  • Experience in performance reporting, operational analytics, or business intelligence, ideally in a financial services or regulated environment
  • Strong capability in data analysis, reporting and insight generation
  • Familiarity with data concepts such as data modelling, data integration, and reporting logic
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset
