As the Manager, Technical Training at Boston Dynamics, you will fill an important leadership role within our Customer Learning & Development (CL&D) team, managing a team of trainers responsible for the delivery of technical training for our commercial robotic solutions, Spot and Stretch. 

You will be responsible for building upon our existing instructor led offerings to develop and execute a scalable training strategy that aligns with business goals and supports a global delivery model.  This strategy will include the expansion of competency based certification programs that will support long-term customer and partner enablement and drive revenue growth.

You will lead a growing team of trainer SMEs supporting two maturing product offerings in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will establish and maintain data driven quality and effectiveness standards and metrics for trainers and training programs to support trainer development, ensure alignment, and achieve desired training outcomes. 

You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization, including product management, sales, marketing and customer success teams to ensure our training offerings and outcomes grow in alignment with our evolving business goals and global footprint.  Your experience in the deployment of training for complex products to diverse customer segments for a global organization will be a valuable asset to our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive training strategies for Spot and Stretch, ensuring alignment with product capabilities and internal and external customer needs.

  • Design and deploy scalable training offerings and delivery methods in a manner that aligns with customer and market expectations. 

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of certification programs that validate learner competencies, enhancing learner credentials and program value.

  • Work closely with product development, sales, engineering, and support teams to ensure alignment between training programs and overall business objectives, communicating training outcomes and insights to a broad range of stakeholders.

  • Drive growth and revenue within the instructor-led training program by identifying opportunities for expansion, optimizing pricing models, and developing new training offerings. Implement a feedback process to inform product design, content creation, and other functions based on customer training outcomes.

  • Lead a team of trainers supporting a global program, defining quality standards that ensure the consistent delivery and execution of training, support outcomes and foster ongoing development through performance based growth pathways. 

  • Work closely with the broader CL&D team to leverage tools and technologies that will support localized training delivery, scalable certification models, data driven decision making and strategies that measure training effectiveness, satisfaction and ROI. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical discipline required. 

  • Minimum 5 years experience training in robotics or similar technical field, preferably for multiple product lines with both hardware and software components. 

  • Proven experience in team leadership and management, with a demonstrated ability to develop,  support and scale high performing training delivery teams with revenue implications, ensuring consistency in delivery, outcomes, and a world-class customer experience. 

  • Demonstrated experience implementing strategic training initiatives that scale  competency based certification programs, driving revenue and profitability.

  • Proven ability to utilize data in driving change to organizational structure, training products, and/or processes and systems.

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of competency based technical learning and certification programs. 

  • Experience implementing quality standards and metrics to assess trainer and training program quality and effectiveness, performing gap analysis at both the program and course level. Proven ability to utilize data in driving change to organizational structure, training products, and/or processes and systems.

  • Experience leveraging a Learning Management System to support the management and administration training programs and facilitate reporting.

  • Possess excellent leadership skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.

  • Strong strategic and customer focus with a clear understanding of wider issues impacting across the organization.

  • Experience in the development and delivery of Service Level Agreements for training products and services.
