Job Title:

ServiceNow Administrator

Pay Details:

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $85,000 to $106,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.

The ServiceNow Administrator will be responsible for the overall management, administration, and maintenance of the corporate ServiceNow platform, and all instances included. This role involves collaborating with various IT and business teams to develop and implement solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

Platform Management

  • Administer, configure, coordinate and maintain the ServiceNow platform, including system upgrades, patches, plugins and configuration changes

  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and performance, including user administration, data management and security

Configuration and Customization:

  • Configure ServiceNow applications and modules, including (ITSM) Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog, Knowledge, (ITOM) CMDB, Discovery, (ITAM) Hardware and Software Asset Management and (SPM) Strategic Portfolio Management

  • Adapt ServiceNow applications and facilitate the rollout of new applications and modules

  • Configure User Accounts, Groups and Roles Create custom Roles where necessary

  • Collaborate with team to develop and maintain Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, and Portals

  • Develop custom ServiceNow applications using ServiceNow Studio and Flow Designer

  • Create and maintain scripts for advanced customization and automation

  • Create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions

User Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure effective use of the platform

  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to assist users in utilizing the platform effectively

Integration and Automation:

  • Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems and applications using REST/SOAP APIs and other integration tools to ensure seamless data exchange

  • Automate routine processes and tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts

Data Management and Documentation:

  • Ensure data integrity by performing regular audits and reconciliations

  • Manage import sets and transform maps to load and update data within the platform

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations, processes, and procedures related to the ServiceNow platform

  • Create, maintain and enhance team Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, role-based permissions, and data encryption

  • Ensure that the ServiceNow platform complies with organizational policies, standards, and best practices for security and data protection

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and best practices

  • Identify opportunities for platform enhancements and process improvements

  • Participate in the planning and execution of platform upgrades and new releases

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Experience with integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, and LDAP

  • Experience with ServiceNow development using tools like ServiceNow Studio and Flow Designer

  • Experience with cloud platforms and services preferred

  • Certifications: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) preferred; additional certifications such as ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist, or ServiceNow Certified Application Developer are preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience as a ServiceNow Administrator or in a similar role

  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform functionalities, including ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and SPM (Formerly ITBM) modules

  • Strong knowledge and experience with scripting & automation with the ServiceNow Workflows, Service Catalog, Knowledgebase, and Employee Center Pro

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other scripting languages for developing custom solutions within ServiceNow

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Able to adapt well to change and flexible with priorities, or ambiguous demands
